Club Policies
Dress Code
Club Casual Attire
Pine Room at all times, Garden Patio (lunch), First Floor Bar, Reading Room (until 5:00 p.m.), Health and Fitness Center, and while checking in and out of overnight bedrooms.
Club Traditional Attire
Grille Room, Duquesne Room, Library, Red Room, Georgian Room, and Reading Room (after 5:00 p.m.).
Private Dining Rooms and Suites
Dress code determined by the host.
Club Casual Attire is... collared shirts, turtleneck sweaters, or knit or golf type shirts with collars, tucked into tailored trousers or khakis. Ladies may wear blouses or sweaters with tailored skirts or slacks.
Club Traditional Attire is... a coat and tie for men; ladies must be comparably attired.
Children’s Attire
Children should be conservatively dressed at all times. The Club’s adult dress code applies to children ages 12 and older.
Unacceptable Attire is... jeans, denim, tee shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, mini-skirts, athletic clothing and athletic shoes (except in the Health and Fitness Center), leggings, spandex, informal leather attire, halter tops, casual hats, casual sandals, hiking boots and recreational footwear. No one will be admitted to the Club in unacceptable attire.
Cell Phone Usage
Cellular telephones are never permitted to be used in areas commonly enjoyed by other members, including corridors, non-private dining rooms, lounges, elevators, rest rooms, exercise rooms and the Barber Shop/Salon. The use of cellular telephones is limited to enclosed phone booths and stationary courtesy phone locations, private dining rooms, private suites, overnight bedrooms, locker rooms and the business center. Laptop computer use is limited to the same areas of the Club as cellular telephone use.
The use of cellular telephones is limited to calling features only. To protect the privacy of members, cellular telephone camera and videotaping features may not be used in any area.
Business Documents
Members and guests wishing to examine the contents of briefcases or other business documents may do so only in private dining rooms, private suites, the Founders Room when not in use, and the Health and Fitness Center dining room and lounge areas. Business documents may not be examined in non-private dining rooms, lounges or corridors.
Smoking
Smoking is permitted only in the following areas of the Club: First Floor Bar (members and their guests only) and designated overnight bedrooms.
Smoking is not permitted in any other area of the Club, including private and non-private dining rooms, the Reading Room, the Library, the Billiards Room, corridors, rest rooms, and elevators.
Exceptions may be made at the discretion of Club management for events that include cigar smoking for fundraisers conducted by nonprofit and charitable organizations. The event must meet all criteria of Pennsylvania Bill No. 246.
These guidelines are subject to change to comply with Allegheny County's and/or Pennsylvania's smoking ordinances.
Parking
Valet parking is available Monday through Friday, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Self parking is available at the Smithfield-Liberty Garage (please see driving directions), the Mellon Square Garage and the Oliver (Lazarus) Garage.
